The tour began with an overnight stop in Mons, Belgium. Here we stayed in the youth hostel, and spent the evening eating ice-cream in the picturesque town square. We continued on to Kippenheim in the Black Forest, arriving in time to go for a welcome dip in the hotel pool.

On our first day we visited Steinwasen Park, with its excellent outdoor and indoor toboggan runs, rides and collection of animals. From here we continued to Todtnau where we watched a glass-blowing demonstration and went souvenir shopping in the factory shop. The day was completed with a concert in the pretty Fischmarkt square in the town of Offenburg.

We set off early on the second day to travel to the Rheinfalls in Switzerland. Here we took two boat rides, one right out to the falls themselves, where some band members got wet, and another to Schloss Laufen where we walked to the lookout points to see the water rushing past us. We travelled on from here to Titisee, where we had time to hire pedal boats or go shopping before the concert in the picturesque Kurgarten. The evening was spent ten-pin bowling, where James Osborne failed to beat Mrs P’s score!

The last day was spent in a huge theme park, Europa Park. Here there is the world’s highest roller coaster, as well as many other white-knuckle rides and shows. We gave a concert in the park’s bandstand at midday. The final evening was spent having a barbeque around the hotel pool, before travelling back to Sheffield the following day.
